Messi’s wife Antonella posts touching message as Suarez confirms new club| All Football

In a touching message, Lionel Messi’s wife Antonella Roccuzzo wishes family friend Luis Suarez the best of luck during his future stay at Uruguayan club Nacional.

Luis Suarez, widely regarded as one of this generation’s top players, saw his Atletico Madrid contract expire at the end of June, making him a free agent.

After weeks of rumors, Luis Suarez, a family friend and former teammate of Lionel Messi at Barcelona, officially announced (on July 26) that he has signed a pre-agreement to join Nacional, the club where he grew up.

Suarez made his decision public on Instagram, and Antonella Roccuzzo was there to leave a note of support. Antonella Roccuzzo remarked that the Messi family loved the Uruguayan and said this:

“With everything in this new stage!!!!

“We love you so much!!!”

Since their time as teammates at Barcelona, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez’s families have been close.

Along with Cesc Fabregas and his wife, another former Barcelona star, they recently traveled to Ibiza.

Suarez, who appears to be nearing the end of his career, will be remembered as one of the greatest attackers in history. He has 6 league titles, 1 Champions League, 8 domestic cups, and 437 goals and 240 assists in 699 games across teams in all competitions, among other achievements.

Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez shared a telepathic partnership at Barcelona

Suarez joined Barcelona in the summer of 2014 after enjoying success with Liverpool. He was instantly made to feel at home by Barcelona’s undeniable king, Messi, and the two forged an admirable bond on the field.

It was nearly hard for the enemy to hide them because they always knew where each other was.

Together, they clocked 20,699 minutes in 258 games for the Blaugrana across all competitions (via Transfermarkt). The 99 goals that Lionel Messi and his Uruguayan partner combined for make him the best wingman he has ever had.

13 trophies were totaled by Messi and Suarez during their six seasons of team play, including a Champions League trophy, four La Liga championships, and four Copa del Rey crowns.
