Livewire for Paris Saint-Germain Following Luis Suarez’s transfer to Nacional, Lionel Messi wrote a nice greeting to his dear friend and former teammate at Barcelona. This summer, after his contract with Atletico Madrid expired, Luis Suarez made a spectacular comeback to the team where he first played.
The Uruguayan forward will not play in Europe for the first time in more than ten years.
In a video posted on Twitter and seen by Sports Brief on the club’s official account, Suarez received a message of luck from Lionel Messi during his presentation at Nacional, who were runners-up in the previous season.
“Hola Gordo! Well, you’re already there. I wanted to send you a big hug. To wish you all the best in this new phase of yours.”
“I know how important it is for you to be there at Nacional, at your home, in your country after so much time. To prepare for the World Cup, because there isn’t much to go.”
Messi added he will throw his weight behind Suarez’s new club, Nacional.
“I wish you the best. Now I am going to have to follow Nacional from here as well. We, fans of Newell’s, don’t have good memories with Nacional. You already know I love you and do anything for you. I wish you all the best and hopefully, we will see each other soon.”
One defender who used to stop Messi at Barcelona is identified by Suarez.
Sports Brief had earlier reported that Lionel Messi had been halted in training by Luis Suarez’s old Barcelona teammate Ronald Araujo. Araujo, who joined Barcelona in 2018 from River Plates, has solidified his place in the squad as a pillar of strength in the Catalan giants’ defense. With his strength and speed in the El Clasico last weekend, the 23-year-old defeated newly-signed Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger.
